Course Description:

“Akkadian Grammar and the Epic of Gilgamesh” presents an online powerpoint adaptation of John Huehnergard’s textbook, A Grammar of Akkadian (GA), fused with Simo Parpola’s publication of the Epic of Gilgamesh (EG) text and Rykle Borger’s Mesopotamisches Zeichenlexikon (MZ).

The four courses–Akkadian I, II, III, and IV; 120 lessons altogether–cover the thirty-eight lessons of GA, Tablet 1 of EG, and 402 Akkadian/Sumerian signs in Old Babylon Lapidary, Old Babylon Cursive, and Neo-Assyrian scripts from the MZ.
